About The Legion National Foundation: National Impact for Canadian Veterans
The Legion National Foundation stands proudly committed to enriching the lives of Veterans, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and their families. Through initiatives designed to honour their service and deliver personalized support when it matters most, the Foundation ensures their sacrifices are Never Forgotten.
Its Mission Includes Four Pillars:
Pilgrimage of Remembrance: Honouring Canada’s Fallen, these journeys take participants to battlefields, cemeteries, and memorials in France and Belgium. They retrace the footsteps of those who served and sacrificed in both World Wars, deepen understanding of Canada’s military history, and preserve their stories for future generations.
Veteran Health and Wellness: Provides critical funding for programs supporting the health and wellness of veterans and their families. Areas of focus include physical and mental health programs, housing assistance, and other individualized support services that improve the quality of life for Veterans and their families.
Scholarships and Bursaries: Helping young cadet leagues in Air, Army, and Navy, pursue post-secondary education. Scholarships are also offered through the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) to advance education and research in Veteran health.
National Youth Remembrance Contests: Engages young Canadians through posters, poems, essays, and videos focused on Remembrance and sacrifice. These programs foster intergenerational connection, inspire pride in Canada’s military history, and preserve the legacy of those who served and sacrificed.
